200 Illegal Immigrants Were Arrested Yesterday In Pretoria

by admin,  Mar 13 2013 12:43 PM

The SAPS, SA revenue services, home affairs and the department of trade and industry decided yesterday to raid the streets of Sunnyside. Demanding legal documentation from businesses and people on the streets.

The head of Law enforcement of Home Affairs, Amanda Ledwaba said due to the fact that various tip-offs were made the past few months stating that there are large amount of slum dwellers in the Sunnyside area that are illegally in the country, they decided to raid the street of Sunnyside. Ledwaba also warned that this raid excursion was the first of many.

Raids similar to this one will be carried out in Garsfontein and Johannesburg according to Ledwaba.

They will start verifying the status of all immigrants arrested and if no legal documentation is found they will get deported as soon as possible. There will be an opportunity for immigrants before they get deported to first appeal the deportation process.

If an immigrant appeals they will be released. They then will be instructed to report to a home affairs regularly until the appeal process is over.

Please be careful and ensure that you have the correct documentation when you are in South Africa, either visiting of staying here. The law requires foreigners to actually be legally in the country before applying for a relevant visa or permit.

If you need our assistance and you’re already in South Africa please ensure that you are legally in the country.

Home Affairs Considering Outsourcing

by admin,  Mar 13 2013 12:42 PM

Home Affairs director general Mkuseli Apleni recently suggested to the Members of Parliament a new system to clear backlogs at home affairs. The backlogs on permanent residence permits is standing on 11 239 at the moment.

The suggested would be appointing a courier company from the private sector to collect all visa and permit applications from provincial offices and transport it to a centralised office where the applications can get processed.

Apleni said with this outsourced service they can have proper control over the application process. The backlog of 46 076 temporary work permits in December have been cleared. The only backlog is on the permanent residence permit currently. They hope to clear it by December 2012.

The Members of Parliament told Apleni that they’ve taken notice of the improvements in clearing the backlogs. They then tried to discourage Apleni to outsource the courier services as it will be hard to hold the private sector accountable if something goes wrong.

Home affairs portfolio committee chairperson Maggie Maunye said that she has a serious concern with outsourcing the the courier services.

After all the intellectual opinions and insights Apleni received from Parliament he said that he will take it back to his department for consideration.

In our opinion we agree with the Parliament, the risk of outsourcing to the private sector is just too high. When something goes wrong who is to blame or what if this system fails and increase the backlogs?

The risk is too high to get the private sector involved and we feel the government is in perfect state to correct their backlogs and we trust Apleni will make a responsible decision.

Nkosazana Dlamini - Zuma showing the Strength of a Woman

by admin,  Mar 13 2013 12:40 PM

South Africa’s minister of Home Affairs was the first woman to be appointed as the new African Union Commission chairperson. As an activist and years of experience we could not think of a better person to fulfill this position. She is a real role model to women out there, especially South African women.

When she arrived at the city hall in Durban yesterday, Dlamini struggled to hold back tears when crowds honoured her for becoming the first woman to land this position in the African Union.

When she eventually succeeded to get words out her mouth she said that she feels very humbled to get such a warm welcome back and she’s grateful for the ANC believing in her.

She now take orders from African people and not South Africa alone. Raising funds for the issue regarding mortality during childbirth is very high on her priority list. Financial strength and sustainability is now important to assist her in solving this problem.

As a person, we as a Visa Company looked up to her, we just want to congratulate Nkosazana Dlamini - Zuma on this prestigious milestone and that we hope she achieves success in her new position.

We will still be in our same position helping you to get your South African visa so don’t hesitate to contact us.

A Situation in SA That Needs a Voice

by admin,  Mar 13 2013 12:33 PM

In South Africa human trafficking is not spoken about on many occasions, but it is a real problem that was identified too late. Now the South African government have taken some actions to limit this multi-million Rand illegal industry.

When applying for any visa to come to South Africa and you have a kid, make sure you have sufficient documentation to proof it. If you and the kid have different surnames, or it’s not your biological child ensure the documents support the fact that it is your kid, legally. This is one place to start for the SA government, ensuring that traffickers and their victims can’t move around too freely in our country.

Unfortunately they still get a way into our country and even kidnap South African children for various reasons that include organ donations, muti, sexual exploitation, child marriages and slavery. Some parents even sell their kids themselves to pay off debt. These irresponsible actions are hard to monitor by the government and community action needs to be taken.

In all the areas where human trafficking are high you can find centers where they treat victims that managed to escape. In these centers volunteers help the victims to overcome the trauma they went through and help them to become stronger and not end up on the streets again. Foreigners on voluntary visas usually come to South Africa to give necessary assistance.

Human trafficking victims are robbed from their freedom and childhood. Some of them work on the mines or even as domestic workers for as low as R10 a day. This is inhumane and we have to help these victims by making people with power aware of this illegal industry.

Many things can be blamed for this huge human trading industry but the main factors still seem to be the high rate of poverty and orphanage. This problem needs more attention and our government needs assistance. Let’s use our voices and give support to the South African government.

A Warning To The World

by admin,  Mar 13 2013 12:33 PM

There are many cruel people in this world. They like taking advantage of others by making false promises that seem to help honest people make better living. The famous saying that states: “If something is too good to be true it usually is” - counts a lot when it comes to visa application.

When you get an email or a letter in the post saying that you have been offered a job in the UK or wherever in the world and they are willing to pay you 5000 Pounds per month, it is a scam! The letter will try and make you think otherwise but don’t get fooled, they want to make money off you. No company will make you pay an initial fee to come onboard and that is usually what this letter also states.

There are so many processes to go through when it comes to employing a foreigner, that it is physically impossible that a job offer just falls on your lap on this side of the planet. The job first needs to be advertised and they need to prove they advertised it. After that they need proof of conducting interviews with various applicants, including you. If the other applicants are unsuccessful this company needs to convince their government that you’re the only candidate suitable for this position.

After this process you will be granted a visa. A process a company will go through if you have extraordinary skills and talents. So please when you receive a letter in your mailbox that offers you a job somewhere in the world with a massive salary, look closer you will see this letter is a scam.

The Difference Between A Spousal and Life Partner Visa

by admin,  Mar 13 2013 12:02 PM

We know how easy it is to fall in love with our amazing country, not to mention the citizens of South Africa. We are all beautiful, nice and lovable. A combination that foreigners can’t resist.

So it happens often that you meet a South African while traveling our country or when we visit your country or meeting each other in a totally foreign place for both of us. Love at first site is debatable but theres a connection. You now realise you can’t spend two minutes apart and you decide to move to South Africa to continue this blooming relationship.

Theres two things that can happen when you meet on holiday. You are either responsible and continue the relationship as it is or do the irresponsible thing and get married instantly. If you decide to continue the relationship with marriage in the future, you apply for a life partner visa. This requires you and you partner to sign an affidavit that you are in a personal relationship. You also have to have other sufficient proof like friends and family confirming in a letter that you guys are indeed in a relationship. Other proof can be a child as well. With a life partner visa same sex couples can also apply for temporary residency.

If you decided upon the irresponsible option you can directly apply for a spousal visa. You will then have the correct documentation to proof your relationship so affidavits won’t be necessary. After being married for five years you can apply for permanent residency, regardless how long you have had your spousal visa.

These two visas have one thing in common and that is that both fall under the law of temporary residency. The same basic documentation is needed only difference is if you’re married by law or not.
